Sig is no Bully!

With the kind of job they are doing he has to be a bit tough and a slave driver sometimes. And he's humor I love it.

He seemed to have a great deal of compassion and respect for his greenhorn, Jake.... he knew he had to go down to the deck and encourage him, not belittle him..... He understood that Jake was frustrating himself, because Jake has already demonstrated his loyalty and commitment..... now, if Sig had to deal with Guy, on the Wizard, you would have seen something Very different.....

Cripes! He fishes! This is what Sig does! I know! My fishing is a minor league event to what to the NW does, but the guys are the same. And they are not bullies. I have a very hard time taking non fisherman fishing.........I tend to scream at them. Sorry non-fishing folks

I think the perspective is different for each person based on his/her experiences. I don't think that cursing is bullying or telling someone how to do something is bullying or expecting someone to do what they are told as an employee (minus if it is illegal or immoral) is bullying. If you want to see top notch bullying visit your local school.

I haven't seen Sig belittle anyone, physically dominate, or even mentally abuse anyone.

Sig lays it out like it is. This is your job. This is how we make money. To make money you're expected to do this. If you can't do this, this ain't your job. Simple.

People are so used to being mediocre in their own lives and being praised for it that seeing true excellence, seeing someone with a real work ethic, is scary so they have to attack him because its alien and it frightens them.

When I managed a store i had employee's who I'd hire now and then who'd fail to keep up to even my minimal standard and they would claim I was a bully too because they had to stay after their shifts to complete the work assigned to them during their shifts. Needless to say. I think 9hrs is more than enough time to change a light bulb or to dust a shelf, but a lot of people just don't like work and complain when other people do.

LOL....... I know what you're saying, Bassgal.....my husband has this friend that's a really big dude..... I made the mistake of feeling bad for him, and I suggested that we take him out on the boat to unwind.....it was like having dead weight with us..... in retrospect, it's comical now, but at the time, I was absolutely steaming.....
