I ignore threads this way. Go to the forum you do not want to read, for example, "Meet and Greet" and then click on the forum tools option and click "mark forum read." Then when you go to new posts they are all gone, you have to do this each time though. It is easy to accidently click "Quick links" instead of "forum tools" and mark the whole site thread...I did this when I came back from vacation because 3000 new posts was just too much to even start to handle. You can do this with any forum.

I had forgotten about this and discovered it by accident a few days ago...this morning when I came on I had 146 new posts, after I marked one forum as read I had 36 new posts...
