[Question] Forum Search

What am I doing wrong on the forum search?

For example, this morning I was looking for the "Christmas Moose" thread. I searched on Moose, didn't find it. I did the advanced search, Moose, thread by MelG, off-topic section.

I looked in the FAQ for anything new regarding the searches and didn't find anything.

I know I'm doing something wrong :-(

I think others have had the problem as well. I apologize to post this here (maybe it should be in Members Helping Members?) I'm not seeing the Site Support Center forum and the ticket option is gone :-(

Before ya'll start posting "I've had the same problem" lol, let's see if anyone has some helpful pointers. I do recall someone saying something about finding posts on Google.

I think it is just wonky! Nothing comes up good anymore. It even says there are no results for Norman and Edgar. I have suspected that for some time it is not searching archived stuff but there isn't much that comes up anymore.
Seattle Texan suggested googling to find the thread, that works better for me.

Yes, it has been very wonky of late. I've had a terrible time finding what I've been looking for lately and there have been other people who've also complained about not finding what they're looking for.

Googling is working great for me. Here's the thread I posted on that.

Sometimes I add "Northwestern" to the search criteria, narrows it down.

And using phrases in the Google search, like "Christmas Moose" (in quotes) helps too. Good luck! The local search is a bit wonky. Wish it supported phrases.

I remember when you posted this. But I still wish the search function on here worked better than it has of late.

If I can remember who started the original thread, I just go to their profile and search their 'threads started by'. If not, I'm out of luck (cause I have a mind like a steel sieve).

I even forgot the google option--will try to etch that in my brain.

I'd volunteer to fix it if I could. I've got written search capabilities at work. .
