Re: Meet and Greet

Tybrus Ransom here... residing on the east coast of Canada in Fredericton, New Brunswick. 35 years old and father of a hellova cute 3 year old. I am the first male in my family NOT to fish. I come from a long line of lobster fishermen based out of Nova Scotia. After working several seasons on my fathers boat I decided to get into computers instead. I still feel the pull of the ocean at all times and sometimes can even taste the humid salty air from home.

Someone told me about this show and I have been hooked every since. Its about time someone has brought this to air. Most people really have no idea how their food gets to their plate. In my family we say a prayer before every meal of seafood.

Nice to meet such a variety of people and hopefully I will get to know all of you. This is the first time I have ever signed up to a forum like this and the first time ever for visiting a fan site.

Ty

Ain't that the truth...I knew a girl who came from New York City and was astounded at a cow! She never seen one before and thought meat came form the store...lol!

Welcome Ty!

What was that like for you?? Did you have any problems with your family when you told them you wouldn't be "carrying on the family tradition"? Were they supportive of your decision??

It's a question I've wanted to know about the Hansen Bros. Four generations of fishermen is a big legacy to live up too!! Edgar's boy Erik is the next "fisherman" unless one of the girls wants too! (more power to her if she does)

We're glad to have you here! The best thing about these Fan Boards is the sense of "family" and being able to talk with other people who enjoy the same thing. That way you get it out of your system and your friends aren't running the other way going "OH NO!! Here she comes again! Please don't let her talk about that darn Crab Show again"!!!

What?!? That doesn't happen to you?? ***...hmmmm... maybe it's just ME...***

Thats my boy! Remi is his name.

Yes it was really hard to tell them I didnt want to fish but they knew all along that I never liked taking orders. My dad was hurt, then pissed, then supportive and now he comes to me for his technical questions. As you probably noticed watching the show there is a lot of technical gear on board boats today. Someone has to take care of those too.

Ahhhhhh, what a cutie. I'm a grandmother to a 3 year old boy and a 3-1/2 year old girl (and 3 more girls - 6, 8 and 3 weeks). Thanks for sharing and welcome!

Re: Tybrus Ransom here... residing on the east coast of Canada

Well thank you very much. His good looks he gets from his father but his smarts he gets from his mother. At 3 he is already fully bilingual. We tested his vocabulary and he scores the same as most 7 year olds. He is already charming the ladies as someone (could have been me) taught him how to wink at the ladies. He can usually stop traffic in the mall as women seem to swarm to him. If I am ever single again he will make it super easy to pick up women. lol.

It wasnt hard to tell that he is probably gonna end up fishing cause as soon as he had a ride on Grandpas boat he hasnt stopped talking about it and fishing and the ocean and fish and anything marine related. He even asked if he can move away from home to live on Grandpas boat. lol

Of course Grandpa doesnt encourage him or anything ...lol

Discovered something interesting about this forum. A message has to be at least 10 characters long. So I typed, "WOW" and got a message that it had to be 10 characters, so I added 'she's amazing'. Apparently I got to 10 characters before I got to 'amazing'. Pretty funny I should have gone back and explained it.
