Newbie saying hello and checkin out the site

I never thought I I'd ever see the day that these boys become TV stars, but stranger things have happened.

I've known Matt and Ryan (Mod) for most of my life. These guys are like brothers to me since I spent at least my whole summers during my high school years at their house screwing around and dropping the property value in the neighborhood.

I love fishing and I'm a moderator for a game fishing website here in the NW. I'll fish year-round in the NW fishing for anything that moves in the water. I'm also an active volunteer fishing conservationist and make sure I put back more into the habitat than I take. I release more than 90% I catch otherwise the price of fish may go up and many could starve.

I did work one summer in the Bering Sea for Bering Sea Fisheries back in '92. The long hours and sleeping in your dirty work clothes (don't have that much time to sleep anyway- its only a nap) sucked but the rest of the experience was great. It does take a different animal though to do this kind of work for a career, and I respect these guys for doing it.

It is great to see the boys making it big. And if any of you need any validation regarding the personalities of Matt and Edgar these guys are crazier than what you see on TV.

I know I'll never accept a motorcycle ride offer from Edgar no matter how far I may have to walk home again. Something about doing about 100mph without a helmet that didn't feel too safe to me. His driving track record back in the day was questionable at best before that since he thought he was a race car driver at times.

As for Matt, oh Matt, how Ryan and I have learned so much from you as we grew up. If Matt ever needs a ride in your car be sure you have the windows rolled up as you head down the Interstate. It's not that he might chime out something to someone on the roadway, that's just an accepted fact it will happen anytime you have a Bradley in your car, but Matt has a unique car scaling ability at 60mph. This was a long time ago, but to be safe just keep the windows rolled up if Matt ever needs a ride.

Well that pretty much puts it [the nuts] in a nutshell, as well as my introduction of me.

Very funny ... Well, I'm very proud to be the first to welcome you to the crab tank. We are certifiable some of the time, but lots of fun and very nice people.

Nice to have another fisherman from the Pac NW!

p.s. boj10 is Buoy 10 in Swedish ... if you know where Buoy 10 is.

Welcome to the forums! It's great to have you, and what a fun introduction thread.

I doubt I'll ever have the chance to take your advice, but if I do, I WILL take your advice. ** Windows up with Matt, no biking with Edgar.. **

Thanks all for the greetings. It's great to be aboard. I'll say Patrick and mods are doing a fine job on this forum enabling a great site to some great members here.

SeattleTexan, thanks for the invite to the fishing forum. I'm not much of a glory shot guy, but as my fall and winter fishing starts up I'll post up some threads and pics along the way and I'll add in some details so others can enjoy what NW fishing has to offer as well. I'm going try again for my first 20+# rainbow trout this winter so I can get it under the ole belt.

As for riding with Edgar, it wasn't that we were just riding along at 100mph, but I was his first passanger on a motorcycle ever.

See he got a new crotch rocket and had been riding it around for about a week or two. One day he was at the Bradley's and I was getting ready to walk a couple of miles home. He told me to wait 20 minutes and he would be leaving too and would give me a ride.

I told him I'd walk home since I knew of at least 2 cars (I believe it was Ken Griffey's old '89 Mustang and another older Mustang) he had taken to the wrecking yard. And to be the first to ride on the back of a bike with Edgar is just nuts. He told me again, "Just wait 20 minutes and I'll give you a ride." I asked if he ever gave a ride to anyone before and he said he hadn't, but he played it off like everything was safe. So I said #%&* it and took the offer.

When we first got onto the bike I was trying to grab something to hold onto and so I grabbed the back of Edgar's jacket. He barks at me, "Don't touch me." "Grab onto the bar behind you."

'Oh boy, this is going to be fun', is what was running though my head along with how nice it would be to walk home.

We dropped down onto a side street, but not any side street, this one had those huge speed bumps so cars don't exceed the 35mph speed limit. It made for a nice race strip since speed bumps are better designed to slow cars than it does motorcycles.

At least I got home in one piece.

As for Matt, Matt is just Matt, he was Matt when I met him when I was about 13 or 14, so about 20 years ago and is pretty much the same Matt today. Matt will talk crap to you all day long so you better be prepared to flip some back at him. He's a funny and fun guy to be around and I love him for being like a brother to me. If he looks grouchy like a tired bear it might be best to not give him a hard time though.

Well, thanks again for the greetings.
