Hi CC and welcome! I remember my brother doing a dance called the Shag back in the early 1960s. Is that what you're talking about or is this a new dance??

Storm, if your brother was Shaggin' in the 60's, he may well have been doin' the Shag I mentioned ... usually it's danced to old beach music - stuff like the Drifters, etc. Gee, I'm dating myself <lol>

Shag is a dance (kinda a shuffling of the feet), which got its roots in the Carolinas. I believe it started out in the coastal regions and eventually made its way inland at which time it became really popular. They even made a movie about it, but I can't recall the name. BTW - we Shag here on the Gulfcoast also - they had a dance this past weekend actually!! They teach Shag at the ballroom dancerooms here!! LOL!

If there is a beach or boardwalk, beach music - there's always the SHAG!
