Mamapoint, what part of the SC upstate are you in? I've lived over half my life in SC & NC, and my hubbie's from Lexington (near Columbia). Two of my kids live in Greenville, too. Hey, we'll have to give these mates some on-deck shag lessons!

Shag is a dance (kinda a shuffling of the feet), which got its roots in the Carolinas. I believe it started out in the coastal regions and eventually made its way inland at which time it became really popular. They even made a movie about it, but I can't recall the name. There ya go ... Shag Lessons 101!
Good Gravy Marie! Glad it's a dance and not the "other' Shagadelic thing! LOL! That's the first thing I thought of, too. I'm a dirty old broad anyway, though.
