I didn't liked it untill Norway played Scotland in the World Cup qualifying in Oslo. Many scots took the trip over ty party with us and in Oslo there is something called the Oslo Caledonian Pipe Band that played and was very cool and sounded realy strange in a good way.

Sorry MNgirl . I dont share your love of the pipes, I used to have a crazy neighbour that took it upon himself to treat us to a rendition of his anthem of Bagpipe tunes every day
I wouldnt mind but it used to start at 7am in the morning 6 days a week, it was impossible to get a long lie so eventually all the neighbours joined up & told him either stop, or he`d be eating the pipes!!!

He got the message but I still cringe whenever I hear them

Re: Hello everybody, from us in Scotland

Yeah, Godfather, I can see your point there. That would be very annoying! I don't hear them that often, but I remember a time a couple of years ago, at our town festival, a group of men were playing them and it was hauntingly beautiful.

It's known as Braw men in Kilts. They are very comfortable too, love to put on the old kilt every now and again. I agree bagpipes are wonderful sounding, got myself a CD with nothin' but bagpipe music on it for Christmas, listen to it all the time.
