Strange weekend

Posted 05-11-2008 at 12:09 PM by Nancy K
I had a really freaky weekend. That in itself is not unusual, but this was more so than usual.
Friday night I hear all this loud commotion, which also is not unusual but I decide I'd better investigate. I step onto the back deck and see a vehicle parked in the driveway to the "back forty". I had turned on the light and I guess that spooked them. The vehicle proceeded to do a couple of donuts in my pasture field near a storage shed , then went back off the properety down the dirt road and around a curve out of sight. They beep the horn several times and are yelling for someone but I couldn't understand what they said. They then drive back to the driveway at a high rate of speed but miss the driveway and smack an old telephone pole which had been there for years. The pole broke off about 10 feet from the ground with the pieces from the top blocking the drive and the grassy space on the other side. They do another donut in the field and get ready to exit again. Instead of running over the downed pole and a pile of cinderblocks they had already ran over once, they take out the fence that separates my property from the neighbor's. They narrowly miss a mobile home and an old car parked on the neighbor's property, go back down the dirt road and take the left fork which only goes to one other person's house.
Come to find out, they had broken into my out building as well as the neighbor's mobile home.
I've never been one to worry about being shot at or ran over, so I got in my jeep with my .44 mag. and followed them. Low and behold there I find parked in the driveway at this other house, a jeep just like mine only a different color, with a crunched up front bumper and grille and two flat tires on the front. The hood is steamin hot to the touch, but all the lights are out in the house and not a sole to be found anyplace.
I go back home and call the Sheriff's Dept. to report this. I am told that they have no one to send and that the only advice they can give me is that if the wire on the pole is "hot" to call the elect. company.
I was and still am angry enough to pull out what little hair I have left.
I contacted them again yesterday and even after giving them the plate # from the jeep , am still told that they can't do anything because I can't prove who was driving the vehicle even tho they now know who it belongs to !!!!!!!
Any and all ideas for retribution are welcome !
