| I see something in a lot of the men on the show. It's the work ethic. They (most) are a different breed from a different time. Even so, there is variation in them all. I'll try to explain.
IMHO, the "nicest person" I seen in the show is Capt. Andy. A happy, smart, easy-going , regular guy. Jonathan is a bit more intense and high-strung, you can see that when they rescue the man overboard.
Capt. Phil reminds me a lot of Paul sr. from Amer. Chopper. My way or the highway, tough and fearless...but smarter.
Sig and Edgar are obviously driven. By what,....the $'s or if it's in their blood, I don't know, but I suspect the latter. Sig is a bit stand-offish, Edgar much less so, and I think both are quite capable of being pricks. I am not saying they are, just that they have the capability. I see the same quality in Capt. Greg of the Farwest Leader. Let me say again that I am not calling any of these men pricks, I am only observing that if a situation calls for it, they can do it.
That having been said, I think that Sig giving Jake the jacket off his back was one of the classiest things I have ever seen, and I doubt it will ever be topped on DC.
The work ethic that especially the Hansens show is a rather rare commodity in most of the U.S. today. The shot we see at one point of Sig in the wheelhouse barely able to remain conscious was frightening. He looked liked warmed-over death. It is refreshing to see people younger than me willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
