Up at the top of your screen, in blue bars are menus for various things--click on "crab chat" and you'll enter the chat room.
User CP allows you to change your settings/avatars/info/etc. Blogs--takes you to the blogging section (you can have one of your own); Gallery is where pics from fans and the crew (of the crew) are posted, etc, etc.
The link for the Social Groups has been taken down (for now, at least) and I believe you can still go to your profile and find that info.
Hope that's enough to get you started.
