Seafair is pleased to announce our 2008 Grand Marshal… Sig Hansen of the Discovery Channel documentary series Deadliest Catch! Seattle Native Sig Hansen spends his days crab fishing on the Bering Sea of Alaska and has one of the most dangerous professions imaginable. Sig truly encompasses this year’s Parade theme… Amazing Adventure! The Northwestern is also the Featured VIP Platform.
The parade is in early August along 4th Ave in downtown Seattle. Capt Jonathon and Andy (Time Bandit), Capt Keith (The Wizard)and Capt Rick (Early Dawn) there is still time of fun for you, The Seattle Safair Pirates need a Davey Jones (honorary Pirate VIP) which actually gives you more free food and beverage and attention than Grand Marshall.
Along with that Sig will be taking out the Toby Keith Auction Winner this weekend as well as making sure a wish comes true for the “Make a Wish Foundation”. There is also another auction or two in the works with Children’s hospital first and foremost where you too can win a trip on the Northwestern. Steve Pool from KOMO is involved in that auction so it’s gotta be good.

Sig and the Pirates
Avast ye scurvy dogs! This be yer warnin’ shot! The cutthroat Seafair Pirates crew has made a deal with their new Captain Kidd – Walter “Tattoo” Taucher and are comin to collect the bounty left behind last year! The merchants will be puttin out their finest wares and the day long festival will be startin at around 9:30 AM. Ye can shop, eat and dance along with the Pirates throughout the day until 5:30 PM! Have your little pirates come dressed fer the occasion and be part of a Pirate look-a-like contest to win some booty.

Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm Xbox 360 Available in Stores
Our Deadliest Catch Alaskan Storm Xbox 360 video game has shipped to retailers. From what we have been told, the Xbox 360 game will be on the shelf at Gamestop stores across the U.S.A. next Tuesday. Games are expected to arrive at other major retailers on Tuesday as well. Depending on the local store, the games may be put on the shelf immediately, or it may take a day or two to put on the shelf. Major retailers currently carrying the game include Walmart, Best Buy, and Blockbuster. Call your local store for more information.
Epcot Center and Disney Parade - Mickey and Sig!
The Norway pavilion at Epcot will host Sig Hansen - one of the featured stars on the popular reality series on The Discovery Channel, The Deadliest Catch - for an in-park appearance July 10 to 13. Hansen will appear inside The Puffin’s Roost, the pavilion’s merchandise location, each day. He will be joined by his brothers, Edgar and Norman Hansen, who also appear on the show.
A fourth-generation Norwegian fisherman, Sig Hansen is the captain of the Northwestern, one of the crab-catching vessels on The Deadliest Catch. He, Edgar and Norman own and operate the Northwestern. Based in Seattle, Wash., the Hansens have fished together for nearly 20 years.
The Hansens’ crab-catching skills on the television show also have inspired Deadliest Catch: Alaskan Storm, a video game for the Xbox 360.
In addition to signing autographs and posing for photos, the Hansens will have Northwestern merchandise for sale during their Epcot appearance.
